The Kenya Dialogues Project (KDP) hosted the 10th Mjadala Dialogues Series on the theme: #iCantEatKE, a policy dialogue on the rising cost of living. Participants and panellists discussed the rising cost of living, proposed government and citizenry interventions and desired policy reforms to make food more affordable for Kenyans.  The discussions were cantered around four key questions, namely what the Government has done to cushion Kenyans against the high cost of living, impediments to accessing decent affordable housing despite numerous policy declarations and emergent technology, and the linkage between an increasing national debt and corruption levels.

At the end of the discussions, it was clear that for the social and economic rights enshrined in Article 43 of the Constitution to be realised, the Government needs to do more. Calls were made to make basic commodities such as Unga more affordable.  Participants included representatives from the Bunge la Mwananchi, etc.
